We do believe that a centralised management team cannot be effective in all aspects of running a business. Specific regulations and customs, as well as the importance of local know-how, usually preclude the success of remote management styles.
Consequently, Marcopolo ensures that business development and operational management is carried out by local teams with the support of the centralized management team. Although these teams are made up of high-calibre individuals, immersed in the way that business is done locally, we look for an important character when selecting people: the ability to challenge conventional methods, which is vital to the success of any business.
